I saw this interesting piece of news on a website: nigerianewsforum early this month and thought it too good to be true. This is what I saw:
The Police Selfie NG is an initiative of Nigerian Police Force (Lagos Command) and Playcenter Nigeria to promote a respectable and cordial relationship between Nigerians and police officers. Every day, Nigerian police officers put their lives at risk in order to safeguard our lives and properties. Let’s show them love by taking a picture when […]
This would mean the Nigerian Police Force is really making good efforts towards projecting good image and restoring trust in the efficiency, friendliness, and sincerity of the Force. I was elated and wanted to publicize immediately. However, I tried a link on that site claimed to be their source of information and drew a blank. So, I felt it might not be credible and I just let it go.
However, just today, I saw similar thing on mobilitynigeria website. A site that brought me up and has been known for its credibility. Here is what they say:
The Lagos State Deputy Police PRO is giving out a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to the winning photo in the Police Is Your Friend selfie challenge. What to do:
1. Take a selfie with a police officer.
2. Post your selfie on Instagram and Facebook, and tag @PoliceSelfieNG
3. The picture with the most likes wins.
Here at MobilityArena.com, we think this is a brilliant PR move by the Lagos State Police command. We also think that the PRO, Aleey Giwa is one of the coolest guys around.
If all these turn out to be true, then we at deolaonline.com also believe that Officer Aleey Giwa is really on the right path of turning the force around for the better.
So guys, pick up that your trusty old smartphone, give it a shine and hunt for the nearest policeman. Nobody wants to miss a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy S6.
