Effect of Exercise on Health –  Dr Maureen Ona-Igbru

Heart disease and stroke are two of the leading causes of sudden death in the world. But following the Guidelines and getting at least 150 minutes a week (2 hours and 30 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity can put you at a lower risk for these diseases.

You can reduce your risk even further with more physical activity. Regular physical activity can reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which you have some combination of too much fat around the waist, high blood pressure, low HDL cholesterol, high triglycerides, or high blood sugar. Regular physical activity can also lower your blood pressure and improve your cholesterol levels. To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise! The greatest wealth is health!

    This issue of exercise .

Many people have to leave their homes 5am spend hours in the office at sedentary jobs, then spend hours sitting in traffic, gets home 11pm, then sleeps. And this goes on, Monday to Friday (sometime Saturday), for years.

Then some spend half their Sunday sitting down in the church, listening to their pastor.

Would the exercise they manage to perform over the weekend ever be enough? .

What is the practical solution to embracing a more active lifestyle.?

Eye_Bee_Kay, it’s not a big deal. They mere trekking to work any back daily is excersice. And if activities are too sedentary, simple aerobics while sitting and standing could help. Few pressups at home before going to work is something else that can be routinely done. Even while lying in bed, one could design and practice tummy reduction exercises and general body toning routines. What matters is determination and a little knowledge of your body muscles and how they contract and relax.
